In App Shop won't load - ID: 650

I've recently purchased the game and it is running great, took me a moment to get used to the touch interface but since then I've loved every minute of playing the game. I was wanting to check the In App Shop in the Options menu, but every time I've opened it, I get the same error - "Sorry, the shop is not available at the moment." I thought it might have been the firewall on the network I was on at the time, but I've tried it on multiple networks, restarted my device (iPod Touch 4G w/ 4 GB free space currently), reinstalled the game, started a new game, etc. and each time the same message appeared. The Restrictions for In App purchasing is not enabled, and I can get online with other apps just fine. The only thing that I can think of so far is that my device is jailbroken because I wanted the handy FoldersEnhanced app to organize my apps better. If the jailbreak seems to be the problem, I can try restoring back to a normal iOS and see if that resolves the problem, I was just curious if anyone else had been seeing this problem?


My iPhone isn't jailbroken currently, but it was when I first purchased the game AND the compendium.
So unless Mario's changed something in a recent build, I don't think that would be the problem.

Edit: Just tried to access the in-game shop and had no issues. Currently roaming on my regular cell network.


Hmm are you running 5.0.1 by any chance? I may just need to try upgrading to 5.1 and see if that has any luck getting the shop, other than that I might just have to do without at this point heh thanks for the reply as well


Unfortunately, I'm on 5.1. That's actually why I lost my jailbreak!
But when I purchased the game and the compendium, I was on 5.0.1.


Hmm well looks like the App wins this one, removed the app and then removed my jailbreak with a restore. Tried it again on 5.0.1 with no luck so I went ahead and upgraded the OS to 5.1.1 but still no dice, same error after another fresh install. Don't think its tied to my specific save game as I've had several at this point. Thanks for trying to help anyways :) If I stumble across a fix for it at any time I'll be sure to let you know.


Happily, it has become possible to downgrade the iPhone 4S, so now I'm back on 5.0.1 and jailbroken.
I still have access to the in-app store, so there's a double-confirmation for you that firmware version and jailbreak status aren't the culprits. I wish you the best of luck in resolving your problems!

Edit - Have you tried temporarily disabling all security on your home WiFi network?


Yea, it seems to be a very odd bug. I've tried it on multiple different networks, some with security and some without, doesn't seem to make a difference. I can access other in-app shops for different games without any problem, it just seems to be specific to this one that I'm having issues with. Later this year I'll be swapping out my Android phone for an iPhone, so I'll give the game a shot on there since I'm sure I'll still be playing it then, it is pretty addicting heh.


Last update, now that 5.1.1 has a jailbreak: No problems on my end.
