I updated on my iPad 1 to version 2.3.6 and now the game crashes when:

  • * I try to see the map/log
    • Go to the game menu
    • Move to a loading screen

With 2.3.6 the foundation for the localization (german translation) was laid.
This leads to more memory usage - and probably the crashes.
2.3.7 is already submitted to Apple and should be released within the next days.
Hopefully this will fix your crashes.
    Sorry for the inconvenience :-(

    Kind regards
    Mario

Thanks for the fix and response! The only inconvenience is being unable to play my favorite game! So, thanks for making it and staying so active with us players! Now I guess I'll get some work done until the fix comes out.

Have you already tried the "low resolution" setting?

Mario, is there a way to change the resolution outside of the game menu? It crashes when I access the menu.

Go to your Settings App. There is a category "Silversword" - there you have most of the options from the game.

I turned on both Low Resolution and Turn Off Animations. I also made sure all other apps were closed. Still crashes. :(

Darn,... well, it seems I have to get an iPad 1 from somewhere to check this out.

Thanks, Mario, for trying! I'll keep my eyes glued to iTunes!

    Mario--

I am still in play test mode. Do you want to send me a version to debug/test? I was going to ask for a test version of the character name and the combat order changes anyway, if you have time.

I prepared a new test version a few hours ago. You should be able to download it via Testflight (check your mailbox).

One more thing to free space in the interim:

Empty your bank vault and drop everything you don't need from your characters, especially the ones in the inn. Each item in the game you hold or store takes more space, even the stackable ones. You don't need to store anything you can buy. Do keep the one of a kind things like the stone blade, the silversword and keys. The fewer items you hoard the less space the game itself takes. Even ingredients appear to take up space. If you are not using them or planning to soon, jettison them.

Thanks for the tip, Wizardz. If I can get my group back to the bank, I will try that!

I just got an iPad 1 for testing, and it seems those crashes are not memory related.
It is a problem with the internal loading of certain screens/forms. I am working on this right now.

That's good to know, at least! Right now, my poor game is basically unplayable. :( I tried to move my party back to a bank and unload my gear, as Wizardz suggested. I wanted to Drop everything -- my goal is just to get to the game menu so I can reload my game at least...but alas it didn't work (obv.). So now my guys are all naked and/or dead, haha.

So I'll sit tight until you work your miracles.

The update is already waiting for review - let's hope the guys at Apple are quick.
    Very sorry :-(

If you have suffered any losses, I will gladly put things right.
For this, please send me your saved game after you've updated to 2.3.7

    Kind regards
    Mario

Please don't be sorry, Mario! Just because my party is a pile of naked, old/drained corpses doesn't mean I am suffering! It was exhilarating streaking buck-naked out of a dungeon and across town in the dead of night, fleeing from denizens of the the dark!

If 2.3.7 fixes the problem, then I should be able to reload my party and pick up where I left off. :)

Thanks for your effort and personal attention to all of our requests and questions, Mario. And of course, thanks for the game!

For the last day or so I have been testing 2.37 in classic, legend and modern mode. It seems much more stable, and with the latest version I am not seeing any of the crashes we were seeing with 2.36. It looks like once Apple approves the latest version, our parties will all be back in business.

Excellent news. I have started a new party on my iPhone, just to play around. Man, I wish I would have saved my group in the cloud!
