Troll ring increases AC by 2 - ID: 762

Increases as in makes it worse.
Any character.
With or without any AC modification spells.
Unequiping the ring does not return the AC lost.
Re-equipping the ring does not increase AC further just the first time.
Bug or is the ring supposed to work this way?

It is not supposed to work this way.
Did you wear a Shield Ring before? You can only wear one ring at a time, because the magic of the rings interfere with each other. A shield ring would give you 2 AC, and wearing the troll ring would automatically unequip it, thus increasing your AC by 2 again.

Now I checked and indeed the character wearing the troll ring has an unequipped shield ring so spot on!
I did write before that it was valid for any character but I tested that again and it doesn't have that effect anymore. I don't believe I imagined it but the pre-troll ring save games are long gone; I can't recreate the effect; and your shield ring answer fits so I guess that must be it.
