Just remember another bug:
Happened to me a couple of times now. After loading a game all my spell effects (even the indefinite ones) have disappeared. My light spell is off so everything is dark (I'm in dungeon each time this has happened) but for some reason my Gabriel's Cloak AC adjustment is still in effect but the spell effect page shows no effects are active. All other spell effects as far as I can tell have been removed as well (Paladin's Blessing of Sodar and Flying Carpet spell)

yes, I encountered this problem too, but I wasn't able to track it down yet. The load/save routine is on top of my list of things-to-be-done, and hopefully it won't stop you from playing until it is fixed :-/
