FORUM: Bug Reports

This topic was started by Nimue on 13/08/2011, 10:46:58

I'm not sure whether this actually is a bug, but since it's potentially annoying, I'll post it here. The following just happened:

I started my game from a previous save and played for about two hours, frequently saving inbetween. Then I accidentally hit my iPad's Home button during a fight, and when I brought the game back up again, I was back at the old save where I had started this morning. All saves I had made inbetween had vanished. Fortunately I hadn't found any particularly interesting items, so I didn't lose more than a few XP, but since it's very easy to accidentally hit that button just when holding the iPad, is there a way to fix this?

When starting the game up again, did you use "Load" in the settings screen?
The game tries to keep your state when pushing the home button - this is some kind of auto-save feature. But actively saving and loading the game later via the settings screen should get you exactly to the point you expect.

I just tested it, and manually loading the save does indeed work. I didn't even think to try it, because normally the last save loads automatically on startup, so I simply figured that the newer saves were gone. Thanks for clarifying :)

Silversword uses a temporary savegame to save your progress when the game is interrupted (phone call, app switching etc.) - with the next update, the latest game will be loaded. If the temporary savegame is older than your last regular savegame, the latter is loaded then.

Thanks for reporting this issue :-)
