According to the manual daylight should cancel darkness or am I just miss understanding the spell? If so is there a way to beat darkness or do you just have to stumble through it?

Magical darkness can't be countered by a magic spell.
Daylight just lightens dark areas like dungeons etc.

Ok thanks I guess I was just confused. Trying to figure out the maze in castle A it's a pita with all the traps
