Hi all, i am hanging at the same problem, i could Not get into the 3rd Level, because the elavater Plattform is empty and i could Not get into the sanctum, because i have no key. Any hints are highly appreciated.

That shop takes Electrum runes, btw. I remember someone was asking where to take them. I tried putting one on a weapon. It cost 640k and gave +4 tohit. On armor it was only 80k and gave sv-4.

Is this the Rune Smith at Savage Crossing? If so, I can't find the key. If not, I haven't found another Rune Smith. Where is another one?

Thanks. I kind of was afraid of something like this since I have not found a smith or anyody else at the mines, other than rats and forgotten miners.
Any more clue?
Ummm...without giving too much away, I'd say you just need to do some more, fairly exhaustive, searching. Not talking about secret walls necessarily--just try to go through everything.

Just to make sure - Dwarven Mines = Karilan Mines - correct?
I am in the Karilan Mines. Have carted to all places of the 321 permutations. Have found a place where I need the Sanctum key, a place to go down to 3rd level but a platform is missing and 3 places with ores, which I picked up. I think I have tapped all the walls without effect. Should I use the spell to pass through walls? Can't find a Rune Shop anywhere. There is a tent directly outside the Karilan gates, seemingly not accessible and no function.
What am I missing?
The carts will take you to a location which will have a way to go back up--stairs or platform...don't recall which. After you go back up, explore and talk to a guy--paladin?--who trades you for the ore. The runesmith is also there.
I also need help I'm sad to say. Have the ore, met the dude with whip who runs off and think (though I guess I'm wrong) I've covered every part of upstairs with no luck, many times over- any areas someone can suggest I look without giving it away?
The dude with the whip and the hat was just a cool nod to Spielberg ;)
