Hi,

I've gathered a number of different types of mushrooms. The item guide doesn't say what they do, however. Please can someone give me a clue please? I'm not talking about the smelly mushrooms from the farmhouse, I mean the other types of mushrooms that you find from loot drops.

Aside from being able to sell portabellos, and that very stinky one you need, I'm not sure. May not be implemented, or a red herring, or is still an undiscovered secret reason.

I know this is an old post, but my bank is full of mushrooms and was wondering if I should chuck them out before they go mouldy or (excluding the smelly one) do I need to keep them for anything in particular?

I've been wondering this, too. It used to be you would walk through mushroom circles (marked with a star) and nothing would happen, and now you get chanterelles or portobellos. I suspect those are Mario's favorite varieties of mushrooms. 8-)

I think this was added in the expansion. Like you, I have a few in the bank, just in case. Fortunately, nothing goes bad in the bank.

This thread has been dormant for a while. Has anyone come up with an answer? I didn't start finding the shrooms until I got the expansion. Could they be alchemical ingredients? Inquiring minds.... Thanks!

There is a spot in the expansion where you can trade them for moon pies, which "expand the mind."

But don't trade them all away — there's an old wizard in the silver mountains that will reward you for bringing him portobellos.
