Stuck after acquiring the Silversword - ID: 1548

First, I have to say how nostalgic this game is. I spent many hours playing Bard’s Tale 2 and this just brings me back. Ok, now for my question.

I got all the shards and the cleansing shell. I returned to find brother Rectus dead and got th4 note for 9/13. I went to Drainage 9/13 and received the Silversword. I was finally able to escape from the Inferno, but what next? My only log entries say that I have the Silversword and the 24th of November Gossip message. What am I supposed to do now? I presume the game is not over yet...

Ok, I am a bit confused.

I actually figured out there was more to find in the inferno. I navigated my way through and found Maruziel. After 2 chances I beat her and won the game.

What confuses me is that I was nowhere near maxed out. I only found 1 “of Forgus” item and I never Figured out how to enter the lower levels of the mines nor got the necessary item to enter the tower at the Ridge Fault. Are these secrets to be revealed in the expansion? Just curious of this experience is typical? I feel that there is more that I am missing. If not, so be it I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will jump into the expansion. Thanks for the great nostalgic game Mario! Any feedback here to my comments is appreciated.

You don't have to be maxed out. And you won't get all items, as long as you don't grind forever ;-)
Beating Maruziel was the goal - everything else is optional up to that point.
In the expansion some of the mentioned places might become important, but there are also some things that are just there to confuse you (sorry for that).

Congratulations on defeating the evil one! What to do next? Well, there is still the expansion, of course, but since the land is still infected with Astralyte, Inferno and other areas are still crawling with monsters. Who knows, you may find some more items "of Forgus" or other useful stuff. Good stuff is hard to come by, though. I won the expansion with a character still wearing iron plate!

And of course if you don't have the 10 rubies required to enter the expansion, you still have some questing to do!  ;)
