Hi all,

Having passed through the tunnels and caves under the mountain ridge watchtower, defeated the Orc Captain and freed the guard I made the mistake of climbing the chimney in the caves as opposed to going back to town. This means that I am the wrong side of the mountain ridge and can't work out how to get back to the initial town (Castle Cranbourgh) to collect my reward from the Armsmaster.

In the spirit of the intrepid adventurer I carried on East and have reached as far as Loch Caetar, however the problem I am now having is that my party is at level 7 (with 75,000 or so experience points waiting to be converted into some extra levels) and is being annihilated by the Shamans and other big guns that wander the forest out here. I'm not one to run away from a fight, but am struggling at the moment.

Firstly, is there any way to get back to Castle Cranbourgh? It's a little frustrating to have completed a quest but not to receive the recognition from the Armsmaster. If not, is there anywhere in the vicinity of Savage Crossing where I can level up?

Thanks in advance for any help that you can give!

In the small "village" of Savage Crossing there's a transport that will take you back. I can't remember how you activate it in the first place. It costs 500 gold and it gets you past all the monsters, etc. You can then use it to get back to Savage Crossing as well.

You can walk too though. Head west from Savage Crossing, follow the road. You get into the mountains, navigate past the Watchtower.

Good luck!

Thanks! I've tried walking but am stuck up on the mountain ridge; there appears to be no way from the East section, where the chimney exits and the road goes further East, to the West section (where the Watchtower is) which leads back to the Castle. This may be because I didn't explore the paths of the mountain ridge any further East than the Watchtower, merely because I explored the Tower, caves and tunnels before taking the "chimney exit".

As an aside, I did just manage to take out four Orc Shamans and 12 Orc Warriors in the fight against the Tarasz with a level seven party in Loch Caetar, which was somewhat of a struggle, could really do with that level up!

Bounce off the tower walls, it may have been a hidden door. Do you have a Rogue to tell you about hidden things or someone with a minor revelation spell? Life sure gets easier with either one.

I do indeed, my Rogue told me of the hidden passage there which leads through to a treasure chest, and I've bounced off (I think) all of the walls as well as the precipices, the first of which felt a little like a suicide mission! Perhaps I'll just have a hunt around for the trainer in the Loch, then those pesky Shaman spirit strikes won't be such a big issue...

Just glad that I spent the time setting up a decent party at the beginning now, otherwise the current fights wouldn't be feasible - all Level 1 characters had stat points of 85 or more.

My apologies, I was just being stupid - having returned to the mountain ridge for the umpteenth time, I spotted a turn in the road that I must have missed at least fifteen times before - and then found the short cut from the forest past the Guardians of the Grove too. All good, thanks for you help everyone.

For anyone else reading this: there is a Coaching Inn (horse head on the map) at Savage Crossing and the Castle that lets you travel between the two for 500G. It is just to the west of the camp, opposite the shield fountain.

Also, just near the burial mound, in the north of Lock Caetar, there is a Training Hall.
