I believe I've explored the entire sewer, but obviously I've missed something since I have yet to make it to the town. Any hints would be appreciated.

Think of basic spells and things that you can use them on; it took me some time too; your conjurer will have helped you do this in all kinds of starter dungeons, he can still do it now. Hope this helps...
