First of all, let me say that I was THRILLED to see a game on the Apple Store which is similar in look/feel/gameplay as the old Bard's Tale and Wizardry games!! Hats off to the developer, Mario!!
I just downloaded the game today and am creating my characters. I looked through the manual but didn't see an answer to the following questions so I figured I'd post them here:
1. Can you change your class throughout the game? If so, what happens to your stats?
2. What are the minimum level and/or attribute requirements for some of the classes that you can't initially select? (Paladin, Archmage, etc.)
3. What is the maximum level for each stat? I see that they are capped at 18 on character creation.
4. Do most areas have monsters that respawn? (mainly asking because I have a feeling that I may be swapping out characters at some point if my initial party doesn't seem to be working out)
Thanks.
Hi there,
thank you for playing :-)
1. you can not change the melee classes, but can change the magic user classes later. One exception to this is the Dragoncaller which is available in the Expansion.
2. some classes are restricted to certain races, just check the combinations. Arch Mages (along with Wizard and Sorcerer) can't be selected, you will have the possibility to switch later on (when you have acquired some new spells).
3. initially 18, then this cap is raised - more info on that can be found in the compendium, which has a great deal of additional information.
4. Yes - you can and will have to grind through the game... old Bard's Tale style ;-)

Awesome... thanks for replying so quickly!! And seriously, I commend you for creating this game!!! (of course, I might be singing a different tune if I'm getting my butt kicked by orcs later... lol)
Hi Mario,
I have one more question. I'm playing on my iPad and I have the sound and music volume set to max (on the device and within the game settings) but I don't hear anything in the game. Is that because I'm still early on and no music is configured for the first town, or is there something else I should check in the settings?
Thanks.
Music is only played during bard songs.
Effects should be heard whenever you move, cast a spell or bump into the wall.
Game and System volume set to 100% should work.
Kind regards
Mario
Hi Mario,
Sorry to bug you again. I've been playing since yesterday but still don't hear any sound in the game at all. My device volume is all the way up, and the sound settings within the game are at 100%. I'm using an iPad mini with iOS 11. Are there any known compatibility issues?
Thanks.
Very strange,
no problems known I‘m afraid.
I will test it on some iPads at work today.
Kind regards
Mario
Hello,
could test it on an iPad Pro. But the sound was ok.
iOS 11.x
Anybody here with an iPad Mini who has sound problems, too? :-/
Very sorry that I can't help you right now.
kind regards
Mario
Hi Mario,
I figured it out!! This was all user-error, nothing to do with the game :). I opened up some other apps on my iPad and realized they weren't making sounds either. In "Settings", there is a "Use Side Switch" option which can be used to either "Lock Rotation" or "Mute". Apparently mine was set to "Mute" and I had hit the side button at some point. Sorry!!
I have one more newbie question, then I'll do my best to leave you alone... I think, lol. Do characters skills increase as they use them or only when they level up? For example, I have a rogue and I continuously make her attempt to hide in hopes that it will help increase that ability (same with picking locks). Does that actually help increase the success percentage?
Great game so far by the way!!! And it's awesome to see that you are so personally involved with both developing new features and responding to users.
Thanks.
Practicing skills does not help.
They increase upon levelup.
Exceptions are the Spell Mastery and the Thief Mastery in the expansion.
kind regards
Mario
