Put egg in fire, now what?

I'm sorry, but I have looked all over for what to do next. From the posts, it seems like I need to get some rubies or diamonds. I did get some diamonds earlier from ridge fault, but unfortunately, I traded them in for silver runes that I attached to items. I looked at a post where they said I could get ruby drops in easier areas, so I farmed the crypt, but never got one. After I do get rubies, what do I do with them?

I did not know what to do at the pedestal at ridge fault and the path is blocked by an ancient force. Is that something I need to do first? If so, is there a thread that talks about that?

Although I updated the program to v 2.32, I did not purchase an expansion. Is this something I am supposed to do to unlock the next challenge? If so, how do I get that expansion?

Any help or links to threads talking about this would be helpful.

Yes, buy the expansion. It will answer all your questions. It is the best 5 bucks you could ever imagine spending on a game.

You can go pretty far in the expansion areas before buying it.

At the pedestal down ridge fault you need the stone blade equipped on a Paladin to proceed. Find the egg in the tower there and take it back to the beginning tower that had a locked door in the basement.

You are going to need a dragon caller to complete the expansion. To get one you'll need to convert one of your non caster characters. Probably the best would be a rogue with master thief abilities. Also best if he/she has INT of 24 or more. It's also a benefit if your rogue has max LCK (40) before converting--you'll see why later. The 24+ INT is for best DC spell point gains per level. After conversion, the thief retains the ability to pick locks, so you don't need a second one in your party.

You cannot convert until after you buy the expansion, but you can probably go to Watertop before you do so. At Watertop you can learn and train master thief skills and alchemy skills.

You can get yo Watertop from the Dwarven Mines or from the NE corner of Lost Forest. The latter is safer unless you have silver or better runes on all your weapons. Although you can run from battles you are not ready for...

You can get yo Watertop from the Dwarven Mines...

This was not intended and should be fixed by now. You will need the expansion to access Watertop.

Kind regards
Mario

Confirmed, my new party was not able to get through the dwarven mines entrance to the deep mines until they had opened the ruby gate, at which point it opened up.

Thanks a lot of the tips. I went ahead and purchased. Begun the next leg of my journey....
