So its all doable, and thanks to Mario for a massive, but highly entertaining, time waster ;)
Without giving anything away to people still working it out, the planes are quite interesting the last battle is particularly challenging. My biggest struggles came in the deep mines level 4 and 5, not knowing the riddle to get into the east side of silver mountain, and needing some directions on how to get past the plane guardian. Thanks to people on the board for the help!
My guys finished the game as follows, as reference (and I am curious to see what combos/levels other people were at)
1. Paladin level 62 -96ac/1364hp/719sp with silversword, using defensive stance
2. Warrior level 62 -93ac/1396hp with axe of souls, using defensive stance
3. Bard level 62 -93ac/1050hp boots of speed, 6+ each of fury and sodar horns, dragonbone bow (critical) or singing sword for bosses, balanced stance
4. Rogue level 62, -89 ac/715hp, full master thief, assassine, boots of speed
5. Dragoncaller level 53 -77ac/1518hp/705sp converted from around a level 50 hunter, using the staff of storms, defensive stance in case someone in front row dropped
6. Archmage (female) level 60, -61ac/1279hp/1304sp
7. Archmage (male) level 60, -53ac/1276hp/1320sp
PS The plane of earth is also particularly "challenging"!
