Dying while placing the Shield of Refraction - ID: 1159

I place this where I get the prompt to do so - and I die immediately afterwards. What am I missing?

That shouldn't happen. It should protect you from the heat and let you walk by

I die up in the command centre where it asks me if I want to place the shield. I've already placed the disruptor downstairs in the plane of fire. I can't get into the north part of the command centre. I feel like I'm missing something but I can't figure out what.

Im not sure this affects that, but did you set the wind controls in silver mountain to test mode? You do need to have them set to progress in the command center.

I think I placed the shield in the plane of fire and the disruptor in the space ship.

Forgot to ask my guardian angel to look after me while placing the shield..... Some final fight! Took forever!!!!
