Rather than always picking up loot, how about giving me the choice to keep or toss it. I get so many magic carpets, wineskins, healing balm, cheap weapons and armor, and antidotes while grinding my inventory fills up fast, making me waste time going thru all my characters dumping stuff I don't need or want. Better to offer the option up front, at least for non-quest/essential items imo.
Also an option to turn on manual scroll for battles, so all of it pops up at once and I can review at my own pace, or ignore completely as needed. I find most of the time I don't much care, but often enough want to check something that having a high or low scroll speed is never quite ideal, since my needs vary more than I want to muck with the speed setting. - Maybe with a sub option for choosing whether the scroll is above or below the battle command for individual preferences, I'd like mine below the command options for the next round of combat since I can ignore it more often than not so far, but others may want the opposite.
I've also taken to running from enemies that offer too little xp to be worth my time since I don't have any spells/classes to help with that yet. Maybe someone has a way to help automate that for other classes? Maybe auto run from groups in, or rather outside, an xp range? 1000-15,000 is what I'll take the time to fight at my level, so I'd like to exclude auto running from that range, but obviously that would vary by, player, level(s) and group etc.
Thanks for the time, and your all too addicting game. ;)
+1 on this idea...with the loot especially. it would be cool if instead of it doing the loot and then just randomly having someone get the item, if it brought you to a loot selection screen where you could not only pick what you want but pick who gets it.
i realize that the way it is now is exactly the way it was in bard's tale. the game game seems to have been made with the bards tale engine. i dunno if he programmed it himself or used the source code from bards tale.
still, i like the idea of a more improved loot interface...
or at least, if that's not possible, i would also be happy if the loot pools were adjusted so that lamps, fairylights, torches and wineskins dropped less often...
with the text scroll speed, i like the idea of manual scrolling.
in wizardry on the nintendo entertainment system, a game that was also made using the bard's tale engine, they had a text speed option that allowed the player to press the "A" button to advance the text.
maybe you could have an option where the text only scrolls if we tap the screen or hold our finger on the screen?
so maybe have the text will still scroll at whatever speed you put it at but only when your finger is touching the screen, so if you see something happen you want to look at, you just lift your finger off the screen and the text will stop scrolling and you can read it and then touch the screen again.
there can be a toggle button to turn this feature on or off.
Also +1 on the loot idea.
Maybe its easier to just make a gold limit to set for auto drop loot. If set to 10 no Lamps / Torches will be collected.
The scrolling speed could be split in your / theirs text. Normally its only interesting if some of my heroes take damage. Different Speeds for Take DMG / Kill Enemy / Fizzle Spell / etc ..
Or make different colors for the text.
Hello,
thank you very much. I will put these ideas on my todo-list.
I am getting annoyed by trash loot, too ;-)
kind regards
