Just purchased this game not too long ago and I'm enjoying it very much. It's very addictive and takes me back to my "Bard's Tale" days. I have purchased the compendium but it did not give me the help I am looking for. I really wish there was a walkthrough or a hints document. I would pay for that.

I've been through the whole crypt, bumped every wall, and have gone down every hall. I found the sarcophagus and defeated the monster there leaving only ashes. Returning to that spot does not reveal anything new. I have checked the treasure chests but cannot open them because my rogue (not part of my regular party) does not have a high enough level to open them and there does not seem to be any other way to open them.

Could someone please give me a clue as to where to look for the rusty bar?

Thanks!

Quick tip: Do some Bards-Tale like grinding and your rouge should be able to open the chest soon or alternative your spellcaster will get trap zap.

Thanks Theodor. So to accomplish this part of the game you need to open the chests with a rogue that is of a high enough level. If I hadn't read these forums, I wouldn't know that a) there is a specific item you need to continue the game and b) you need a specific character to accomplish this task. Again, I think a tip/hint document would be a good idea.

Zandbar,

You dont have to go grinding. All you have to do is go to the crypt.
There in a chest you will find the rusty bar?
If i am correct there are only 2 chests.
I have a rogue in my party and he did the mini game and opend the chest with no problem.
You could probably also use a spell. But i cant remember if that option was available with this chest.

Hi Esteral,
Yup, there are two chests there but they don't allow you to open them with Trap Zap. My rogue is only a level 3 and couldn't open them so it looks like I'll have to do more grinding to bring up his level.

Try forcing the chest. If you're running the latest version of the game, you may play through the whole game without a rogue and not miss out on any chests. In fact, it's recommended, since the rogue flat-out sucks and only gets worse the stronger the rest of your party gets.

You should be able to force open any chest unless it is a special one requiring an item. I don't run with a rogue in my party and still been able to force open all chests that can't be cast on. It takes like 20 to 30 tries sometimes, but it will open eventually. One note, whoever is doing the forcing (I usually have my highest STR warrior doing it) is going to lose HP each attempt, so watch the HP especially if he is low level.

Happy hunting.

Long time ago I was in the crypt and this is one of Mario's levels. Obvious I don't remember the design correctly.
However I just want to say: I played through myself without a rouge and it worked fine.

Unless I am totaly confused there is no point in the game where you need a specific charakter class.

Theodor missed the design changes ;-)
With one of the last updates, some chests have the TRZP option removed.
But you should be able to eliminate the trap by using Lockpicks (no special character level required here).
