Silversword is now available in french!

And along with this update (2.6.3) there are some major adjustments to the game mechanics:

- limited supply of armour and weapons in the starting area
- monk’s chain attack ability adjusted
- the Hesitation spell revamped
- combat adjustments for groups with less than seven members

kind regards
Mario

I'm near the end of my replay in 2.6.3, and the change to Hesitation has made things much tougher. That orc, the Grumshakh, might be the most dangerous monster in the game! If not for Guardian Angel, he would have wiped out my entire party in one round!

I got him, though, and freed three of the four dragons. Now on to the last one, then it's on the the command center. I don't look forward to the final battle if Hesitation doesn't work on viruses! :o

Mario, is this a bug or a feature? I encountered 24 Aerial Rangers and used Hesitation at the beginning of round 1, with 23/24 being paralyzed. However, later in the same round, 9 or 10 of them shot arrows at me. It's as if the Sodar's Wrath the second archmage case de-paralyzed them!

Hi!

The spell output is actually misleading.
Hesitation should work now as it is written in the description: Enemies are paralysed the round after the spell was cast. Hadn't the chance to check this on all occasions, but during testing it looked satisfying.

I was going to complain bitterly about this, but a trip to the compendium shows that it was there all along: "causes every attacking group to miss all their attacks during the next round."

Of course, to quibble, that does say every group, not everyone who is not magic resistant and fails their saving throw. 8-)

Thanks for the clarification. This certainly makes the quest more dangerous!

P.S. I'm currently playing 2.6.4 and looking forward to the enhanced ending. Such a pleasure to have bought a game so well supported (and loved) by the developer!

I am re-playing it myself at the moment, just to see if I can handle this ;-)
Some fights were tough, Maruziel took forever, and now I am grinding near Watertop.
As of now, I think the game can be played with the new Hesitation rules. Let's see what the planes and the Defiler brings...
Perhaps I will remove the resistance throw against Hesitation again, but first I want to collect some feedback from the player base.

kind regards
Mario

Although I enjoyed having godlike power, I think I had become over-reliant on Hesitation. I defeated the Defiler and his support bots with ho Hesitation at all, just a combination of Zyrak's Trench, 10-12 Armageddons, the Horn of Sodar, and some good old-fashioned head bashing. It took a while, but it was manageable and enjoyable, despite the terror and two characters dying!

Compost will be the real test!

I had to re-design my strategy for dealing with Compost. The first time, my melee fighters attacked and my magic users cast two Armageddon spells and a Hesitation spell in the first round. At the end of the round the team looked like the attached.  :(

The second time I had my melee fighters defend, and my DC cast Zyrak's trench in the first round. After that, I could slowly wipe them out as they advanced.

Again, the lesson is that I had become over-reliant on Hesitation.
