FORUM: Guides, Spoilers and Walkthroughs

I am building up to be able to do the bandit caves in the SE of Savage Crossing. I am a bit confused about the "burial mound." Do I have to fight against the big group of orcs on the way to Loch Caetar in order to get to the burial mound? Also, what do I do with the place where the tendrils are blocking my way? (I believe this is in the "forest" on the way to Savage Crossing.)

Thanks.

Rob

Yes, you must defeat the orcs and save the Tarasz to get to Loch Caetar and the burial mound. This is a tough encounter. If you and more than a vague hint, I've hidden a couple below as spoilers.

A sorcerer's hood will take care of orc shaman quite easily. You can get one if you grind enough on the ridge fault. The mountain dwellers there are about as tough as the Tarasz warriors in the Bandit's Cave. The orc warriors are at least as dangerous, if not more. You can do it with Farther Foe and several rounds of Hailstorm, or by using a Ring of Destruction if you are lucky enough to find one on the ridge fault.

You will encounter a clue (I think from the Druid Gwyddon) about when you may enter the Burial Mound.

At midnight.

To get to the mound, you must find some way of overcoming the noxious fumes from the plants guarding the path. Perhaps something to cover up the smell?

There are smelly mushrooms for that in the woods south of the abandoned farm in the SW of Loch Caetar.

The path north of the forest you asked about will continue to block your way until you are sent on a quest that requires passage, but remember its location.

After you reach Annsharbour, the Master of the thieves' guild will send you to retrieve something from the dwarven stronghold of Karilan Andur.

Hope that's not TMI.  :)

Thanks!
