What is the best approach to kill Bonfyre? Specific tactics and sequence of attacks would be helpful. I have read the other thread on this battle, and am using Guardian Angel, Guardian Spirit as necessary, Restoration, and Heart of Asphgyr. The difficulty I am having is in the order of battle. When Bonfyre uses his attack that removes Guardian Angel and reduces my parties' hit points to single digits, I don't have an opportunity to cast Restoration and Guardian Angel again before Bonfyre attacks again and kills my entire party. Bonfyre almost always attacks first or second, which doesn't give me any opportunities to recover. Suggestions?

Hmmm, I vaguely recall Asphgyr being the trickiest encounter. I don't remember Bonfyr doing that, but it has been a while. However, if what you are saying about the TIMING of events is right, then why not take advantage by casting Restoration in the first round, before you are attacked? Then if Bonfyr gets his attack off first and drops you to 1 HP, the next thing to happen would be the Restoration (and Guardian Angel) spells going off. (You can also use your opponent's speed against them by casting spells to wipe out crows before they are in spell range, and watching as they immediately fly into range before the spell goes off.)

The other option would be to improve your casters' speed by either equipping some fresh apples before combat or having one of them wear Boots of Speed.

Thank you so much. Even with fresh apples equipped, Bonfyre still went first, however, casting Restoration each turn did the trick. Every time Bonfyre knocked my party down to 1 HP, they were immediately restored. Thank you again for the suggestion. And now I know to cast spells before I need them, not just after the damage is done.
