FORUM: Guides, Spoilers and Walkthroughs

I am sure I am probably beating a dead horse here, but either I am missinterpreting the compendium or it hasn't been updated.
Certain attributes according to the compendium, is stated as having a max bonus of +10 (Intelligence for instance if I am not mistaken). Which at one point per over 14 means it is maxed at 24 intelligence. But I believe I have read in one of these forums that bonus SP per level maxes out at 14. So I am confused as to which is correct.
If the max on those certain attributes is a +10 bonus, then am I correct in assuming that once that particular attribute is at 24, then there is no point in raising it anymore?

Ok...just took another look at the compendium and it says CN and IN both cap at +10 for bonuses. If this is true, and it's one bonus point for every point above 14, then that should be +10 at about 24 for both CN and IN. And if that's the case, it would seem that any points spent in those beyond 24 is wasted.

I do not believe that the SP and HP bonuses you get at level up time are the only aspect of the game that are affected by IN and CN. Yes, once you reach 24 IN and CN you might want to focus on DX, ST and LK. And if your character is not going to be a magic user, then raising IN to 24 is not a priority (but it's best to get it to 24 before converting to DC, if you plan to).

Thanks for the reply. I figured as much. Did some save/load tests with a save file that had a caster with multiple level up available to see if there were benefits to going beyond 24 in IN and CN and there wasn't. So yeah, moved to raising other stats that don't BonusMax. The Compendium doesn't seem to go into any detail however as to whether or not IN/CN affect other aspects besides SP/HP bonus gains at level up. Course it lists IQ as a primary stat for Bard, which I'm not sure why as Bards do not receive SP and their number of songs they can sing between drinks seems to be based off of level. If your stats affect more than just SP/HP gain, it would seem that this should be one of those things that buying the compendium should list. I mean, it sucks to have to restart a character because you find out a bit of detail from a free forum even though you payed for the information and took the time to read it.

On another note...I do love this game. I thank the creator for having even blessed my iPhone with such a gem of a game and taking me back to the days of sitting behind a keyboard playing The Bard's Tale with my father (R.I.P.) when I was a kid. I hope to see more for this game and would not/have not hesitated to drop coin on this title. Thanks Mario Gaida...I may be a Veteran, but YOU are my hero.

A word of warning though...watch your back...my PC doesn't like you to much...I think it holds you responsible for me spending so much time with my iPhone and thinks it is being neglected. My PS3 on the other hand seems to be indifferent about you...it thinks karma got my PC for what it did to my relationship with my PS3...just sayin. Electronics can be very grudge full...lol

Uh oh.
Another reason for me to push the development of Silversword 2... which should please all other platforms ;-)

Kind regards
Mario
