FORUM: Gossip - The rusty dagger tavern

This topic was started by icetear on 25/06/2015, 13:45:40

Looking at the facts and the video over at
, I don't think that the upcoming Bard's Tale IV will have anything to do with the way Silversword is meant to be (and the old BT1-3 were meant to be, despite the lack of technology at that time).

Sad, but true. Or what do you think?

Kind regards
Mario

Yes, it is sad and true. Although Brian Fargo has lured me into the Kickstarter campaign by offering BT1-BT3 for free with at least a $20 pledge, it is my opinion that this game will be nothing like the first three and shouldn't be named Bards Tale IV. To me, Silversword is Bards Tale 4. I hope I'm wrong with my opinions but after watching the BT4 trailer and what I've read, I think I'll be disappointed if I get my hopes up.

Mario,

I had some dialogue with Brian Fargo, the lead of the Bards Tale IV project. He said that the game would be mappable so I can use my graph paper and pencils like I've done with Silversword. It seems that the game will have old school elements. He said that it would be party based and that combat would be phased based. Sure, the graphics are going to be out of this world as they need to be to attract the majority of gamers out there. However, it sounds like he will be doing the right things to make Bards Tale IV appeal to true BT old school die hards like me.
