FORUM: Gossip - The rusty dagger tavern

Mario, as I said via email when I signed up, I love the game... Thanks. For your incredible work...

When I found the game I spent a fair amount of time rolling and re-rolling my characters. I thought I had a very solid crew, since everyone had great stats in all of their critical categories.

Now I am reading on here about the progression of the players, and I am wondering if I may need to start over again...

I rolled a Warrior that had 16+ for Str, Con and Dex...and luck was at 15. I was psyched!

I have been diligent when I level up to take advantage of maxing HP/SP and ensuring that the skill point is tied to a meaningful stat for each character, and feel like I have a nice start to a powerful crew....

Now I am reading that the skill point for players has a cap at some point, until ALL skills are 18...??

My Warrior has INT of 6, so does that mean that at some point I will have to use TWELVE levels of skill points in-order to raise my warriors intelligence in order to keep advancing his primary stats?

I have the same issue with Magic users with that have single digit strength, etc...

I REALLY don't want to have to do this, but I think I may be better off starting over? *sigh*

Am I missing something?

As I stated in other threads as well:

Nobody needs to do endless re-rolling to enjoy the game.
I have repeatedly finished the game with the given party (of course this is something different for I know the mechanics, but this does not give me much advantage).
It's all a matter of personal playstyle :-)

Kind regards
Mario

I have to say it was very interesting for me to follow all the discussions.
I looked for the stats only for about 10 lvs round about to get a fair number in Con and Int.

After that point I didn't give a sh... about the results of the dices.
The game was challenging and interesting for me but I neither had the feeling it is too challenging nor it is to easy.

My point of view: If you allways try to max your rolls you will probably end up thinking the game is too easy.

P.S.: Kicked Maruziel with a 6 char party, all in the mid 30th

Thanks for the replies...

Two of my three Mages were actually pretty good, so I rel-rolled 3 new characters, and then went out with them last night... Thanks to the mages, and filling the 7th slot with my old warrier, And havng stepped up gear for these newbies, I was able to quickly get them to level five in an hour or two...(after taking an hour plus to re-roll them and get 81+ on each)...

As Mario said, it's about your stlye/preference...and I would have been irritated grinding at those higher levels and knowing the end result would be one more point of a stat that I didn't 'need'. Plus, I enjoy rolling up and outfitting the characters...

Next up is getting my third Mage right so I can get them caught up with the others...
