FORUM: Gossip - The rusty dagger tavern

This topic was started by Professor1028 on 10/12/2017, 23:26:16

What are the level and attribute requirements to become a Dragoncaller? I know that you cannot be another spell caster or a Paladin, but I created a new rogue who can is now level 15 but doesn’t have the option to convert (my other rogue, who is level 38, can).

You have to be Level 20. Sorry, forgot to add this information to the english version of the manual.
Will add it with the next update.

kind regards
Mario

Ah... thanks!!

And don't forget that Dragoncasters lose their special abilities when converting. Technically, you could convert an archmage, but they would forget their spells, as would a Paladin. Monks lose their chained attacks, Rogues lose their lock picking and hiding skills, and can no longer use bows, and Bards lose their songs and ability to use horns. For me, that left only one character who could become a DC: my warrior. He lost most of his armor, but happily could keep the Silversword.

Not entirely true. Thieves for example keep their skills. You really should try out the different classes and see what suits your needs.

Sorry, I mis-remembered. I did consider making my rogue a DC but decided against it. Now that I think about it, lock picking, etc., was not an issue. However, she did lose her ability to use lock picks, and IIRC she lost the ability to use the Dragonbone bow, which was pretty important. Still, I might try converting her this time once I reach the guild and let my bard use the bow and move to slot 5.

So what is the consensus for the best classes to become Dragoncallers? I'm not sure that I'll have the time or patience to complete master thief - is the rogue still one of the best options? And I've benched my warrior a while ago but I could always rotate him back into the party with plenty of time before I have to make the decision. So I guess the real question I'm asking is what skills or traits remain and which are lost when changing to this class? Thanks,

Makarios

I'm going to end up converting a Warrior as well, so you're not alone on that strategy @Visstar. I figured that the high HP along with the extra attacks should prove useful. I have a rogue who has 99% Master Thief but I think I'll just leave her as is for the time being. She can continue wacking monsters with her Singing Sword or switch to the Dragonbone Bow when necessary... that seems to be working well.

Just my 2 cents...
