Could someone help me understand "drained" status? It seems that each time a character is struck by a drain attack, he loses a level - do I have this right?

This might not be so bad, I suppose, but I've no idea how far I am from acquiring the Paladin spell that restores levels. I am currently fighting in the dungeon of Dunkelloch. If it is going to be a long time before I get that spell, I may just go back to my pre-Dunkelloch save file. In which case, I will have wasted 3 hours last night and 2 tonight.

Anyone care to give me some hints on a) how Drained really works and/or possibly b) where the restore levels Paladin spell is and how far I have to go before I can acquire it?

Thanks and happy gaming!
- Corey

You have to find the spell in the expansion.

You can also restore levels at the shrine in the Annsharbor market district.

There was a bug with restoring multiple levels, which may have been fixed. Either way, if you have a drained character, use the Paladin spell or go to that shrine and get him/her restored as soon as you can. Not only are drained characters down a level, they are gaining no exp from combat until they are restored.
