Is there any trick for getting past the giant in the lost forest who is blocking the door to the dwarven mountains? How many river trolls do you have to kill for him to be satisfied, or is there something else you have to do to get him to open up?

I don't know the answer, only that the giant never bothered me or blocked my path. Perhaps you're missing something from a quest?

It wants all the river trolls killed. I can't find any to kill...

Kill the trolls inside the manor and the giant will thank you by moving.
