I have the 4 shards and the Divine Shell. Brother Rectus is dead and left the message IX XIII. What do I need to do now? Please help.

You might notice that many of the sewer rooms are numbered.

I didn't get that message. The game just exits to start a new game when I try to return to brother Rectus with the 4 shards and the shell. Must be a bug.
Thought the game was over until I found this and went to that room.
Looks like I can keep playing!
