FORUM: Gossip - The rusty dagger tavern

This topic was started by Bob Albright on 28/04/2012, 18:04:44

Have two spell casters in my party. I have class changed both of them twice after level 13 and am at the point that I can do it again. Mastering one more class would then give me an opportunity to create an archmage. Should I do that? Or keep leveling what I have? And if I do ...should I do both of my spellcasters?

I read somewhere on the forum someone recommending grinding up your mage/conjurors to 26 before switching to sorcerer. I really don't see how that's possible unless you use temporary sorcerers to get you to late-game, then start new casters to replace them at that point. Odin's Wrath is basically required to progress past the bandit's hideout and grinding to 26 pre-paradosa would be torturous.

I decided to stop at sorcerer and gain some levels there before making the switch to wizard and archmage. But I only made it to 18/19 before deciding to change class again -- I wanted to see the higher level spells too much. Still, that's some extra hp/mp/stats gotten at 400k/level that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Wizards take 1.2M/level and archmages are like 4M/level at 13+. I think I'm near or slightly ahead of where you are in the game, just heading over to the dwarven mines.

Guess my main question was as to the value of the archmage. My two spellcasters have gone to level 13. ....one as a magician and sorcerer....the other as a magician and conjurer. Both are now at level 13 as wizards. They've learned all they can as wizards. Was thinking maybe I should class change at least one of them to learn one more class after which I could begin an archmage

Oh I see. I switched mine to archmage and they are level 5. Haven't used any spells yet, besides Sodar's Guidance which is just a convenience spell. I still mostly rely on Odin's Wrath with the occasional Demon War when there's a single large enemy group.

I read that Hesitation (lvl 1) is basically required at some point of the game but I haven't gotten there yet.

The advantage is that they always start at level 1, and move up quickly. Stats improve, and hp and sp go up each time. Make sure to take each Mage through every class fully.
