Is there a way to get past the old tree?<br/>
I have rescued the prisoner from the watchtower and visited him in the castle<br/>
I have a very nice weapon for a bard (?weapon)<br/>
I have a very nice weapon for a rogue (?weapon)<br/>
Or is this a thing for the full version of the game like 5 other trees I might have encountered?

Yes, the tree marks the frontier to the full version.<br/>
The 5 other trees are Guardians which are not to be passed in the lite version.<br/>

I have indeed identified the items and they are very fine indeed.<br/>

Out of interest, what skills needed to help with the full version?<br/>
