I'm not the sharpest rocket on the Christmas tree,<br/>
but why are scimitar swords worth so much?<br/>
I'm guessing runes or jewels?

Great scimitars are the largest sword with the most damage of the general weapon categories, slightly better than a great sword, plus extra costs in increasing order for bronze, iron, steel, andur steel, of forgus etc. metals used. Runed weapons have specials values if found/ made in game, of zero value if YOU have it runed (which  is strange I know). Some special items are un-rune-able for game design reasons I think.<br/>
