So I am trying to get back into the game, but it has been years. I am currently in Paradosa looking for a spirit shard I believe. I think I used to have more icons in the spell effects screen, but I can't remember what I used to keep cast or perhaps sung. Thanks. (My characters aren't archmages yet, but have wizard through level 6)

There's some trial and error here, determining what you do causing which icons to appear in the effects area. Here's what I recall:<br/>

<LI><li>Musical notes appear when you bard is playing a song</LI>

<LI><li>Pedestrian (stick figure) appears when you are using the road wardens</LI>

<LI><li>Blue shield appears when your Paladin casts Shield of Solar or a mage casts Gabriel's Cloak (*)</LI>

<LI><li>Fire appears when you are using a torch, lamp, Dayblade, etc., or cast Magic Flame or Daylight (*)</LI>

<LI><li>Sniper scope appears when your Paladin casts Blessing of Sodar</LI>

<LI><li>Flying carpet appears when you use a Magic Carpet or cast Levitation or Flying Carpet (*)</LI>

<LI><li>Open eye appears when you cast Second Sight (?), Find Traps (?) or Open Eye (*)</LI>

<LI><li>Compass appears and shows you the direction you are facing when you cast Magic Compass (*)</LI>

That's eight, but there's room for more. I don't think I've ever seen the effects area completely full.<br/>
